The Assistance Fund (TAF), an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced it has joined the National Health Council (NHC) as a Partner of Patient Organizations.

“Few organizations have driven the national discussion around patient-centric policies as much as the National Health Council,” said Danielle Vizcaino, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. “The Assistance Fund is proud to call itself a member of the National Health Council as we strive to see the day when no person goes without treatment because of an inability to pay.”

Created by and for patient organizations more than 100 years ago, the National Health Council brings together over 170 diverse national health-related organizations and businesses to forge consensus and drive patient-centered health policy. As a Partner of Patient Organizations, TAF is committed to promoting increased access to affordable treatment for underinsured people living with life-changing diseases.

“We are pleased to include The Assistance Fund as our newest member organization,” said Randall Rutta, CEO of the National Health Council. “Together, the National Health Council and The Assistance Fund will amplify the patient voice to improve the lives of the 160 million people living with chronic diseases and disabilities.”
