Patriot Shopper Launches Their Browser Extension, Empowering Consumers on Amazon to put America First

CHARLESTON, SC / ACCESSWIRE / February 9, 2023 / More and more online shoppers are looking to buy “Made in USA” products, with the disruption of global supply chains in the aftermath of COVID-19 further spurring this trend. However, it is becoming increasingly hard to find American Made products on huge e-commerce platforms like Amazon. In addition, products manufactured in China have flooded the marketplace and these products’ origins are unclear or obscured.

To meet the demand of this growing segment of Americans, Charleston-based company Patriot Shopper has created a free-to-download browser extension that will highlight and prioritize American Made products on Amazon, placing them on the top row of every search result. This gives consumers greater power in controlling their buying habits and patronizing locally manufactured goods. It also features a button that eliminates products made in China from the search results when toggled. If the search result does not have any products that were made in the US, the Patriot Shopper extension will highlight products that are not made in China. The Patriot Shopper automatically activates when browsing Amazon, and the extension works on both desktop and mobile for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.

To help Americans find the products they want, Patriot Shopper has created a custom database of over 2 million products, brands, and manufacturers that have been meticulously categorized. This database, along with proprietary algorithms and an advanced API, allows the extension to analyze Amazon search results in real-time – highlighting American Made goods and blocking Chinese made products when that feature is activated.

Patriot Shopper founder and military veteran Joe Jordan believes that tens of millions of Americans, like him, are now increasingly serious about ‘Buying American’. They are now seeing the benefits of supporting domestic manufacturers and American workers. “The Biden administration is also championing the Buy American movement,” Joe says.

Joe also talks about how more and more people want to avoid products from China, “The reasons to avoid buying goods made in China are diverse,” Joe says. “For some people, it’s a quality thing, as they see Made in China as low-quality. For other people, it’s a humanitarian issue, with the Chinese government’s treatment of the Uyghurs and the forced labor camps. Joe says that Patriot Shopper is effectively the US private sector’s response to growing tensions with China.

Moving forward, Patriot Shopper plans to bring its browser extension to other major e-commerce platforms in the US, such as Walmart and Target. It is also looking to expand to Amazon’s next four largest markets – the UK, Japan, India, and Germany. In these countries, the extension will highlight domestically made goods.
