NEI General Contracting Announces Growth of Texas Office

Houston office supports Southwest operations

HOUSTON, TX / ACCESSWIRE / July 6, 2023 / NEI General Contracting, an award-winning general contracting firm, is pleased to announce it has completed the renovation of its new office located at 13360 S. Gessner Road in Missouri City, Texas and added new staff. It is also completing work on five 55+ affordable housing communities across Texas.

NEI offers general contracting services, specializing in affordable housing with extensive experience in ground-up, moderate rehab, elderly, veteran, historic rehab, historic tax credit and low-income tax credit projects.

The Texas staff have built and delivered thousands of units across the Southern Region and feature an expert team of professionals with extensive tax credit construction and HUD experience that provides clients across the Southwest U.S. a turn-key experience from preconstruction to closeout.

Recent Projects

Serenity at Dallas is a 55+ independent senior community featuring comfortable apartment homes ranging from studios to one and two bedrooms. NEI was retained by Elevation Financial Group to complete a 150-unit conversion to independent living space, including adding galley kitchens in each unit and performing enhancements to common spaces throughout the community.

Serenity at Briarcrest is a 180-unit property also owned by Elevation where NEI completed common area upgrades, unit appliance replacement, patio enclosures, and leasing office remodel to improve the resident experience.

For Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), NEI is renovating two properties – Thomas Square Apartments in Burleson and Castleglen Place in Garland. Both provide 40 units of senior housing and are managed by VOA Texas. VOANS received nine percent housing tax credits in 2022 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to fund the renovations at Thomas Square Apartments, and Castleglen Place is using HUD 223(f) financing. Both properties are RAD for PRAC project conversions.
