The exchange cooperated with two different non-governmental organisations to send a truck carrying essential supplies such as food, water, medical supplies, and clothing to those who have been affected by the earthquake.

LBank’s CEO, Allen Wei, expressed his deep concern and sadness over the situation, stating: “Our thoughts are with the people of Turkey during this difficult time. We hope that our small contribution will help ease their pain and provide some comfort in their time of need.”

“LBank is proud to have played a small role in this humanitarian effort, and we encourage others to lend their support in any way possible,” Wei added.

As of February 8th, 2023, the death toll of the earthquake surpassed 12,000, making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in recent history. The situation is still dire, with many individuals remaining trapped beneath the rubble and rescue efforts being hampered by supply and logistical challenges.

The earthquake, thought to have originated from the East Anatolian fault system, had its epicentre near Gaziantep in southern Turkey and was recorded as a 7.8-magnitude quake. This was followed by a series of powerful aftershocks, with the largest registering a 7.5 magnitude and occurring 60 miles from the original epicentre. Some seismologists even consider this as a separate earthquake.

While rescue efforts continue, LBank announced that it will continue to support those affected by providing necessary relief materials and medical supplies. The trading platform says it is working closely with local authorities and relief organisations to ensure that these resources reach the hardest hit areas and provide much-needed aid to those who have lost everything.

LBank also noted its gratitude to the two non-governmental organisations for their support in coordinating and delivering the aid to those who need it most. This donation is just one of many initiatives that LBank is involved in, aimed at making a positive impact in the lives of people and communities.
