Dr Jon Wilhelm selected to lead FICS international sports chiropractic team at WAKO Kickboxing European Championships in Antalya, Turkey (Nov 2022)

BOZEMAN, MT / ACCESSWIRE / May 3, 2023 / Dr. Jon Wilhelm continues to shine in the world of sports providing chiropractic care to some of the best athletes, sports teams and federations worldwide. His latest endeavor with the International Sports Chiropractic Federation (FICS) was a selection to lead the FICS International Sports Chiropractic team at the WAKO kickboxing European Championships in Antalya, Turkey.

The WAKO European Kickboxing Championships was held between 11th and 20th November and was one of the most important kickboxing competitions held in Europe in 2022. This elite selection to lead the FICS medical team is testament of Dr. Wilhelm’s skills as a chiropractor, skills that he has honed over many years of learning and experience. During the FISC event, Dr. Wilhelm and his team of sports chiropractors made a huge impact, offering up to 110 treatments per day. The diverse FICS team included four sports chiropractors from Sweden, Turkey, and the United States. These skilled sports chiropractors were each trained and internationally certified as part of their selection to this top event.

Dr. Wilhelm’s background in sports medicine and his specialization in sports chiropractic care have contributed significantly to his success. He concurrently holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Science and Rehab (MS-SSR), the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) designation, and the International Sports Chiropractic Certification (ICSC). Furthermore, he is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council., the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic – FICS, and the Montana Chiropractic Association. Dr. Wilhelm has also worked with elite athletes from USA Gymnastics, USA Track and Field, USA Bobsled Skeleton, USA Wrestling, as well as multiple international athletes and teams.

Dr. Wilhelm’s proficiency in sports medicine and performance chiropractic therapy enables him to pinpoint the underlying source of musculoskeletal dysfunction and provide his athletes and patients with the most effective physical medicine methods. He uses manual therapies like Spinal Manipulation and Mobilization, Extremity Manipulation, Dynamic Taping, Cupping Therapy, Guided PEMF Therapy (EPulse), Shockwave Therapy, Dry Needling Therapy, Graston IASTM Technique, Fascial Manipulation, FAKTR Rehabilitative Methods, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS).

Dr. Wilhelm’s excellent work in sports chiropractic has been acknowledged long before this FICS appointment, when he was recognized as the 2018 ACA Sports Council Sports Chiropractor of the Year. He also has served on two Olympic medical teams, first as part of the USOPC Medical Team for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, and most recently as part of Team GB Medical at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China in 2022. These achievements are rare in the world of sports chiropractic, and Dr. Wilhelm’s sports medicine and performance chiropractic therapy expertise make him an asset to any event fortunate to have him sideline helping athletes achieve.
