NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / January 12, 2023 / High-speed internet that is reliable and secure is more critical than ever to support Retail store operations and multiple Point of Sale check-out options. With most payments processed via credit card, the cost of Internet downtime can be prohibitive for Retailers if they lose POS sales due to a loss of Internet connectivity.

Retailers are leveraging high-speed 5G Cellular connectivity to either complement or replace traditional connectivity options such as Fiber, Cable, Satellite, and DSL. Converge IoT, a national distributor of 4G and 5G technology and equipment, works closely with major wireless carriers and partners like Inseego and Social Mobile, allowing Retailers to take advantage of 5G Fixed Wireless, as well as custom hardware and mobility solutions.

The three companies have teamed up to exhibit at the National Retail Federation (NRF) 2023 Retail’s Big Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City on January 15-17 (Booth #752). Here is a snapshot of what to expect at the show.

We met with representatives from these three significant companies to discuss their plans for the exhibition.

Can you please tell us a little bit about the partnership between Converge IoT, Inseego, and Social Mobile?

“As a National Distributor working with major wireless carriers, Converge IoT builds partnerships with industry leaders like Inseego and Social Mobile to bring best-in-class solutions for Retailers,” said Mark Savage, Converge IoT’s CEO and Co-Founder. “Our goal with these partnerships is to provide customers with fast and reliable 5G connectivity, and purpose-built mobility solutions anywhere they do business (from Rural to Urban).”

What can you do for Retailers in locations or markets that lack access to high-speed 5G?

“Inseego has a complete line of 5G Routers for Fixed Wireless Internet, built to support customers wherever they are located or do business. The Inseego FW2000e specifically addresses customers that are not near 5G Tower coverage. The FW2000e has built-in high-gain directional antennas that can connect to a carrier tower from significantly further away. It is designed to be mounted outside with flexible mounting options and PoE support so it can easily integrate with a Retailer’s existing Network Infrastructure. This makes it very easy to upgrade customers from 4G LTE to 5G and to deliver high-speed 5G to rural markets and if 5G is not yet available our devices still support 4G LTE with 7 band carrier aggregation” said Bill Badger, VP of Business Development at Inseego.

Why would a Retailer in a location or market with other high-speed internet options utilize a 5G solution?

“Inseego’s 5G routers, gateways, and CPEs will support even faster 5G speeds in urban and suburban areas where proximity to the cellular towers is optimal. In those markets, 5G Cellular is the perfect complement to a Fiber or Cable Connection as a backup connection, and sometimes customers get 5G speeds so fast they are able to replace more expensive wired internet connections” answered Bill.

How is Social Mobile helping clients leverage mobile devices and mobility to power the future of retail operations?

“At Social Mobile, we specialize in making fully custom, Google-certified enterprise mobility solutions, built to support a Retailer from the store floor to the warehouse. This includes handheld barcode scanners, POS devices, tablets and handsets for taking orders and payments, and self-serve touchscreen kiosks. A custom solution from Social Mobile also includes managed mobility services like device staging and kitting, management, and repair. We cover the entire device lifecycle for our clients.” said Robert Morcos, Founder and CEO of Social Mobile.

What about a Retailer that doesn’t have a big budget for a custom-built device, can you offer anything for them?

“On average, a custom enterprise device will actually save clients around 40% on the total cost of ownership (TCO). If you were to take an off-the-shelf consumer device and factor in all the costs to repurpose it for use in a retail setting, plus the increased downtime and support costs – it all adds up. Enterprise devices are purpose-built and made to last for up to 5 years. Much longer than any consumer device.

That being said, we have our RHINO portfolio of enterprise devices that are Google-certified and

ready to ship. The RHINO lineup ranges from tablets to handhelds and POS systems – Everything a Retailer needs to run their entire operation.” said Robert.

Anything else Retailers should know about?

“We are thrilled to be an exhibitor at the NRF 2023 Retail’s Big Show, and even more excited about the strong partnerships and solutions we will have on display. The Converge IoT Booth #752 should be on everyone’s list to visit at the show!
