Gary Tatz, MD Named Medical Director of Hospice of Westchester

WHITE PLAINS, NY / ACCESSWIRE / May 9, 2023 / Hospice of Westchester (HOW) is thrilled to announce that Gary Tatz, MD has accepted the role of the organization’s Medical Director. Dr. Tatz has been an advisor to HOW’s Comfort Crew pediatric palliative care program since 2013.

In 2022, Mark Fialk, MD, who served as Medical Director and had been with HOW since its inception more than 30 years ago, announced his retirement. Upon his departure, Dr. Tatz agreed to assume temporary oversight before accepting the position permanently.

“Dr. Tatz has been a wonderful resource for our patients and staff for many years, and we are pleased that he has agreed to expand his role with our organization,” said Mary K. Spengler, MS, LHNA.

Dr. Tatz is an assistant professor in Pediatrics at New York Medical College and is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He is an Attending Physician in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Director of the Pediatric Palliative Care program at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, where he has worked since 2005.
