Sizzle Sauce Will Spice Things up at the 2023 Ottawa Cottage Life & Backyard Show

OTTAWA, ON / ACCESSWIRE / April 21, 2023 / A Muskoka-born taste sensation will be showcased in Ottawa this weekend. The team from Sizzle Sauce is elated to announce they will be exhibiting at The 2023 Ottawa Cottage Life & Backyard Show.

The husband and wife team of Greg Montfort and Jennifer Potter are lifelong cottagers, which helped serve as inspiration to create the perfect sauce for cottagers.

“Cottagers are always entertaining their friends and families. And most are constantly striving to offer their guests a unique taste experience. At the same time, they don’t want to spend the nice days slaving away in the kitchen,” said Sizzle Sauce founder, Greg Montfort.

“Sizzle is the result of our 25-year quest to create a deliciously versatile and well-balanced sauce. It doesn’t overpower the meat and other ingredients. It complements them and brings them out.”

This year’s Ottawa Cottage Life & Backyard Show takes place from April 21st to the 23rd, at the EY Centre in Ottawa. It is your chance to meet exhibitors showing docks, builders, contractors, innovative building products, green solutions, decor and style, arts and crafts, food and entertaining, water toys and more.

After spending 20 years in the big city and working in fast-paced commercial kitchens, Greg moved to a 50-acre farm in the Beaver Valley, bringing his passion for food with him. This gave him the time, serenity, and inspiration he needed to create the perfect sauce.

After only being served in their kitchen for years, Sizzle Sauce made its big debut at Greg and Jennifer’s wedding in 2015.

“We served it at our wedding to see if this was something we could really bring to market. The response was amazing and we haven’t looked back,” said Jennifer.

“People were always telling us, ‘You have to sell this somewhere!’ So we knew it was time to put it out there into the world.”

A few years later, Sizzle Sauce has earned their official Ontario Made certification, and they have gone from cottage country’s best-kept secret to stores all across Ontario. You can find them at over 75 stores, including local Sobeys and Foodlands.

One of the keys to their rapid growth has come from being a part of the Sobeys Local Food Program, which allows local suppliers to grow at a sustainable pace within Sobey’s network of stores.
