Checkable Medical Launches First of its Kind Clinical Study for At-Home Strep Test in 16 Cities

FARGO, ND / ACCESSWIRE / March 14, 2023 / Checkable Medical, a new startup revolutionizing the healthcare industry by bringing fast and accurate at-home test kits, telehealth services, and a line of wellness supplements to the home, today announced it’s conducting a clinical study to prove the safety and effectiveness of the first and only rapid strep throat test for home use. Once the study is complete and granted FDA clearance, Checkable will become the first and only rapid strep throat test for home use.

Strep throat is a common bacterial infection, typically found in school-aged children between 5 – 15 years old. Caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, an extremely contagious bacterium, strep throat can lead to sinus, tonsil, and ear infections and more severe inflammatory illnesses such as scarlet and rheumatic fever. By providing at-home tests, Checkable Medical expects to help reduce the burden on healthcare systems and decrease the amount of time and money families spend on clinic visits. These at-home tests will also help reduce the time parents and children need to spend away from work and school.

Checkable Medical is hosting clinical trials at several locations across the country in Florida, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Idaho, Michigan, and Dilworth, Minnesota, located just outside their hometown of Fargo, North Dakota, with more locations to be added in 2023. Checkable is seeking adults and children ages 5+ that are presenting two or more strep throat symptoms to be eligible to enroll in the study. Patients who qualify and consent to the study will be given the at-home test kit and easy-to-follow instructions to perform the test at the healthcare facility. Patients will be asked to answer a short survey on their overall experience using the test. Upon completion of the study, each patient will receive a $100 Gift Card.
